With increasing frequency, faculty post course requirements and assignments on the World Wide Web. The Internet is used at this University not only as a method of information distribution but also as a communication tool. In many classes, students are expected to e-mail their professors and classmates. The University of Oklahoma recognizes the importance of this medium in the educational experience. Access the OUNet Account Management System

While at the University of Oklahoma, you can send e-mail messages to fellow students, instructors, or anyone else that has an e-mail address. In addition to using Netscape to surf the web, you can also use Netscape to send and receive e-mail.

OUNetID and Password Account Administration

Your OUNetID, commonly referred to as a 4+4, and password are the keys which allow you to access the University-wide technology services such as computer labs, e-mail, web pages and dial-up modem services. 

What's my OUNetID (4+4)? 

Your OUNetID is the first four letters of your last name plus the last four digits of your OU ID number. If your last name consists of less than four letters, simply use your last name and the last four digits of your OU ID.   Example:   A student named Ima B Sooner with an OU ID of 123-45-6789 would have an OUNetID of :  soon6789

What's my password

Default password and how to change your password
Students activating their account for the first time
are directed to the OUNet Account Management System. Students are directed to click on the "New Users: Activate Your Account Here" link in the right column. Follow the directions to set up your account.

Students can manage their own password changes Distance Learning, 24 hours a day, seven days a week at http://account.ou.edu.

OU Records

The OUNet Account Management System allows students to quickly and easily access information of importance to them. Using your OU ID number, your OUNetID and your personal password, you can look at class schedule information, grades, financial aid information, and even get unofficial copies of your transcript.

OU Student Services on the Web

After opening the web page, you will move through a series of screens which offer choices on the type of information that can be viewed. On the OUNet Account Management System web site students can look up:

  • Class Schedules
  • Grades
  • Account Status
  • Financial Aid Information
  • Course Availability
  • Unofficial Transcripts

You will need your OU ID number, as well as a valid OUNetID and password to use the OUNet Account Management System.
