How to Apply

Admission standards are the same for students attending the home campus in Norman and the students attending off-campus sites.

Application Resources

To be qualified for admission students:

  • must have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university

  • must have at least a 3.0 grade point average (GPA) over the last 60 hours of letter-graded undergraduate coursework

Students who have:

  • a GPA between 2.75 and 2.99 will be considered for Conditional Low-Grade Admission status.
  • a GPA below a 2.75 may still qualify for admission according to the Provisional Admission status

(Please see the bulletin for more information.)

All University Outreach students, regardless of GPA, are admitted on a temporary Provisional Admission status.  This allows students to begin their course of study immediately while their application is being reviewed by the Graduate College and the academic department.  Students can remain in this status for 120 days and are limited to 9 credit hours.

Courses are taught in an intensive format that includes pre-class preparation, pre- and post-class assignments, and 1 week or 2 weekends of onsite instruction.  All credit earned through Advanced Programs is considered “resident credit” because our courses are taught by OU professors.

If you have questions at any time, please contact your local Advanced Programs Site Director.
